Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a “Lift and Clean” cost?
The charge for a “Lift and Clean” varies please see our Boat Owners / Book a Lift page.

How long does the clean take?
Each craft takes on average 45 minutes to “Lift and Clean” in total.
Larger boats can take 60 minutes.

How long does lifting take?
The lift takes around 3 to 5 minutes with a payload of 25 tonnes.

What do the crew and owners do?
Nothing. Just motor on, pay and go.

Can small repairs be done during the “Lift and Clean”?
Yes, advice will be given during the booking procedure, but each dock will have the tools to change propellers etc.

Is our craft insured whilst the lift and clean is undertaken?
Yes. All Sealift2 docks have full comprehensive marine insurance in the unlikely event of an accident.

Can all yachts and motor boats be lifted and cleaned?
The vast majority of hull types can be lifted, cleaned and maintained, however the owners need to inform our operatives, at time of booking, what specific hull and propeller type they have so that we can prepare for any specific design. There are two designs that we cannot lift at this time: lightweight Kevlar racing hulls that are unable to support the weight of the craft, and catamaran hulls.

What days of the week and hours of operation are you open for?
Currently our working hours are 7 days a week from 0800 – 2000 but special arrangements can be made outside these times upon request.

Do you use salt or freshwater for the clean?
We use Freshwater as that slows down the re-growth of algae . In future docks for the certain markets we can fit de-salination units.
